Alzheimer's  - A Tribute to a very special lady.

One of the most amazing Ladies I had the privilege

of knowing.  And to a gentleman who honored his

promise to her, and cared for her at home till

her dying day.

Life and time is a gift...

treasure every "normal" moment with the person you love.

A Tribute to someone with Alzheimer's  -  Anonymous S.

Alzheimer is an incurable affliction of the brain, it is terminal, accompanied by progressive memory loss, it affects both the patient and the closest family.

It is generally accepted that the affliction is escalating, as proved by the increasing number of care centers.

A contributing factor to this statistic is that because of the drastic change in socio-economic factors, home care is decreasing.

The disease has a slow progression, but the patient has many periods of clear memory.

As spouse, I experienced the joy and reward of her appreciation of my support during these moments of clarity....

Giving our best but not perfect loving care and assurance is the vow we took 54 years ago, it was my fortune to uphold this pledge, amiably supported by our son's.

To those who find themselves in this position and are capable of providing loving home care, I can assure you that despite its demands, at the end it is a very rewarding experience accompanied by no regrets
